Kids, here are some things you should know. This is important for all of my family's children, and my children's children so listen up. Mom gets to wear what she likes and she is always good looking especially when she doesn't think so. Mom gets to say what she wants and you better listen without rebuttal and do it right. This is not a command–it is your way to happiness.
She doesn't have to be a nag before you act your part. In fact, if you know what she wants and have not done it before she asks, you are too slow. Repent and apologize immediately as you simultaneously begin moving in that direction. No task she asks is too tough, nor is it beneath you.
When you see her face in the morning, think to yourself, "Am I clean?". If not, don't wait! Get clean. When you see your mother writing or editing you should be writing in your journal or doing homework. When you see your mother in the kitchen, you should assist her. When you see her praying you should bow your head in silence and join in especially if she is not saying a word. When she is exercising, exercise with her. If she is doing something kind for someone, join her in the service. When she comes into the room you are in, you should stop what you are doing and give her your full attention in the event she needs something. If it helps to stand, that would be OK too.
She is to receive hugs from you multiple times each day. You don't have to have a reason. If you no longer live at home, your hugs can be received through the phone, facetime if possible. She deserves to hear from you regularly too. Take 5 minutes out of each day and talk to her.
You are to be the best person you can to show honor to her. You should always be improving yourself to one day be the kind of person who will raise your children with love and respect for God, spouse, your children, and country, in that order and by example.
No one is perfect and as her husband, I know this all too well, yet I too will attempt to do all these things. Not because I have to, but because I do desire to be happy.
She loves you more than you could possibly know–and always will, regardless of how stupid you have been. Oh yes, stupid is not a word we use. I apologize.
